HOMEBREWING A SCHWARTZ LAGER – BEER TECH BREW DAY

It’s brew day at Wild World of Beer and we’re making a Schwartz Lager! Follow along as Andy takes you step by step through the brewing process.

JUST ANNOUNCED 3/27/2017: Our Schwartz Lager won 1st place in the Dark European Lager category at the California State Fair Homebrew competition!

Some technical info: Grain bill has Pilsner, Munich, Vienna as base malts and small amounts of pale chocolate and Carafa 3 for color. A large amount of Hallertaeur Mittelfrueh hops for bittering hops with later additions of Hallertauer and Saaz for flavor and aroma. Starting gravity was 1.056 and final gravity was 1.010 for 6% ABV and approx 33 IBU.
