Extract Brewing with Mr. Beer Part 1 of 3

Beer Kit
Home brewing a beer (American Light Lager) with the Mr. Beer Kit.

Part 1: Brew Day
Part 2: Bottling & Conditioning
Part 3: Taste Test

Mr. Beer brings ease and convenience to home brewing. It’s certainly not the complete, “from scratch” process like all grain brewing but it’s great for beginners.

If anything, the biggest take-away from the experience is the importance of the sanitization process when brewing.

The video demonstrates the ease of this home brew kit which was purchased for $36 (post-Christmas sale) at Sears. The kit can also be purchased at Walmart, Target and Bed, Bath & Beyond during the holiday seasons. It is always available online at the stores mentioned and on Mr. Beer’s site as well.

The kit makes 12, 12 oz. bottles of beer. The plastic keg and bottles can be reused (after they are sanitized) but, before your next brew, you will need to purchase the sanitizing solution, hopped malt extract, yeast, and “carbonation drops” (sugar cubes)–all at Mr. Beer’s website.
